The Racing Edition was modeled on the looks of the V6 Roadster that Smart built at the cost of £75,000!   Commonly referred to as the RCR standing for Roadster Coupe Racing.

Inside the seats are leather with red stitching to match the exterior.

The BRABUS SB2 power upgrade kit was a no cost option, however some dealers may not have fitted it, some customers may not have been aware of the option!  Without it the car has 80 bhp,  with it 90 bhp.

NOTE:  Just seven left hand driver RCR-90’s were built for the European market, and just one of those had 18" BRABUS Monoblock VI wheels. Twelve left hand drive RCR-101’s were made for the european market.  The RCR-101 had the 101bhp Brabus engine in it instead.  None of those were sold or advertised in the UK.

No cost optional upgrade to BRABUS SB2 power upgrade kit giving 90bhp.  Some owners may not have opted for this as the extra power increases insurance.

Only 50 RCRs were made, each with its own, individual badge on the dashboard – 01/50, 02/50 etc. – showing its place in the production run.

The first car delivered on 1st September at smart Manchester was more than a little special, it was a very limited edition smart roadster-coupé racing. One of only 50 produced for the UK.

The lucky customer who snatched this one up the first day it was in the showroom was Chris Tierney of Prestwich. Chris is not new to smart, in fact he and his father Barry are two of smart Manchester’s most prolific customers. They have had an amazing 9 cars from smart Manchester in a little over 3 years. Barry and his son Chris own and operate Avitt Ltd, Electrical contractors in Middleton.

Modelled on the roadster-coupé V6 bi-turbo, BRABUS have modified a small number of roadster-coupés in order to produce the jaw-dropping roadster-coupé racing edition.

From the moment you see the RCR you can tell that this is no ordinary roadster. BRABUS have really gone to work and have left nothing to chance, from the aggressive 17” Monoblock VI alloy wheels and twin-sports exhaust, to the sleek BRABUS spoilers and side skirts. The RCR also comes with racing red bodypanels (a bespoke colour to the RCR) and to make it look even better, the front/rear grille and rear roof spoiler are also in racing red. As you can see, this has a dynamic impact.

As if the stunning looks of the RCR weren’t enough, it also packs a punch. With the retrofit BRABUS SB2 power upgrade bumping the power output up to 90bhp which, for such a lightweight car provides a specification and performance offer that will be attractive to customers.
